Over the last month I’ve been involved in an online blogging class. One of the main things I’ve learned is that my original home page did not reflect my style. At all. Maybe that’s because I made it myself with what little knowledge I have about HTML coding. {ugh, just typing it makes me cringe} So in an effort to give it a little oomph!, I’ve tweaked it {with the help of a web designer}. I actually had a very good idea of what I wanted H*T to look like and hired a professional to implement my ideas and install them into WordPress. Then I switched up my color scheme {links, titles, tabs, etc} to mesh with the new home page. What d’ya think?
Along with a new header and background, I registered a Twitter account. You can now find House*Tweetings {corny, isn’t it?} at the top of the right-hand side bar. I’ll try to keep my tweets light and suggestive.
I know when other blogs I read do some sprucing up, at first I’m apprehensive just because I’ve gotten used to seeing the same home page day after day. {You know, that whole ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ saying} Plus, I always get leery that somehow changing the appearance of the blog may change the content. In most cases though, after a few posts, my inclinations are proven wrong and I happily discover that the changes really are positive…better. So, I know change is hard but I hope you’ll stick with me and see what comes next. It’s still the same old me…a suburban mom and wife with 2 rowdy boys, a Handy Hubby, a creative side and a passion for home decor, design and DIY. Oh, and I like chocolate no bake cookies…fresh and gooey straight from the pot…eaten with a spoon so I can’t gauge how many actual cookies I’ve consumed.
