...because home doesn't happen overnight.

Ever since I came across this image on Pinterest a few days ago…

…I’ve had navy on the brain.  That dramatic wall color is Benjamin Moore’s Old Navy if you’re interested.

I was inspired to window shop Etsy in search of some more navy inspiration.  Here’s what I came across.

1 – American gastronomy typographical print via Lucy Loves This

2 – ‘These are a few of my favorite things’ typography print via Tender Beasts {not to be mistaken for ‘tender breasts’ which I did misspell the first time around – oops!}

3 – Ikat lumbar throw pillows via Kyoozi

4 – Embroidery hoop fiber art via Sometimes I Swirl

5 – Ralph Lauren woven linen pillow via Homemaker Movement

6 – Celtic table runner via Maya Jean Designs

7 – Denim and braid laptop sleeve via Bagy Bag

8 – Ceramic flock wall art via Prince Design UK

#4 has me all riled up.  Simply amazing!

It’s a done deal.  I’m seriously considering navy as an accent color in the Underdog.  I like the way it adds contrast and drama while still working as a neutral.  I’ve already told Handy Hubby that my design taste is leaning a little more towards the masculine side this time around.  I guess I’m finally giving in to all the testosterone floating around in our family.

What hue has you wanting to try a new color scheme?

http://hookedonhouses.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/blacknurseryfireplace.jpg This picture of almost black navy made me want to paint something that color so badly. Too bad I live in an apartment now and just finished painting all possible areas. I think I might paint a bookshelf next though that color.

I am seriously swaying towards navy. Oh my, I love it. Especially with white! I saw the most gorgeous bedding in a window yesterday: navy and white. Beautiful. :)

That navy does look fantastic but I am in love with the orangy spice color right now. I think its popularity has come and gone but I am always late on trends of any kind. :-)

Oh, that does look sexy and crisp all at the same time with the white cabinetry and trim, and the dark mocha floors. Mmm! And it isn’t nautical themed at ALL (a plus, since navy always ends up boaty feeling).

That navy wall is the perfect shade, what POP!

Longtime lurker here…love the Navy!! We are mid-creation of our son’s big-boy bedroom. Painted it a deep hue of blue, but it generally reads navy. You can get a glimpse of it here: http://www.otherpiecesofme.com/2011/08/reverse-stencil-dresser-details.html

Ok…relurking

I’m officially declaring navy walls a trend. I’ve seen it popping up everywhere and I have about 4 different navy color swatches taped to my living room wall right now. I think it’s a good neutral – can be brightened and made feminine with the right accents or kept classic with white pairings.

I’ve been loving navy for fashion lately! It looks so great with lots of different colors, so it gives me a chance to wear my cute colored flats. Yellow, turquoise, green all look so fun with navy.

Its safe to say that my house has navy as an accent color in almost every room, and I adore it.

I love, love, love the gastronomy print. I might have to order one!

I hadn’t really given navy much thought, but our spare bedroom has so much light it could probably tolerate navy. Hmm….

I loooove, love, love navy and white together. It’s so classic and modern at the same time! Now I want to redecorate something!

We have used Ben Moore Stary Night in a couple of our homes. I love the deepness and comfort of it. People are always commenting on what a great color it is.
