...because home doesn't happen overnight.

Do you like practical style?  You know, stuff that not only looks great but actually works for you?  I do.  So when Scout by Bungalow contacted me I was more than willing to pass on their freakishly fab and functional goods to you.

{Doesn’t their Atlanta, GA showroom look like a fun place?}

The Scout collection features stylish tote bags, collapsible storage bins, insulated coolers, picnic and party coolers, travel bags, travel accessories and wedding favors.  The best part?  They’re totally wipeable!  That’s right.  With a durable water-resistant surface, any item will have you on your way to Easy Cleaning Street.

Here are a few of my favorites…

scout by bungalow

1 –  The Stiff One is a modestly sized insulated cooler.  Think picnics for two or BYOB.

2 – Little Draw is a drawstring backpack that keeps your {possibly smelly and dirty} tennies or cleats separate from your clothes.  I’ll admit.  It might even persuade me to workout at times when I’m really not feeling like it.

3 – The Original Deano is a generously sized carry-all perfect for trips to the pool or beach.  For you moms of school-aged children, I could see this bag making its rounds to holiday school parties and toting around all those classroom treats.

4 – This Megah Lil’ Slim fits laptops with a screen size {measured diagonally} of up to 13″.  The water resistant shell keeps your PC safe from spills and rain drops.

5 – How tough would this Junque Trunk look in a boy’s room?  Store Legos, blocks, cars, books and train tracks out of sight and in high style.

6 – If I had to pick one item, the Hilary Duffle would be it for me.  Small enough to fit in the overhead on a flight but large enough for a weekend getaway, this multifunctional travel bag fits the ‘does everything’ bill.

7 – Don’t let the name fool you, this Doggie Bag isn’t brown and boring.  It’s insulated, wipeable, reusable and available in an assortment of colors and patterns.  Eating leftovers for lunch has never looked so good!

But don’t let my picks sway you.  Click over to Scout to find your favorite product in the perfect pattern and color to keep your days feeling cool, colorful and collected.  And maybe if you’re lucky you’ll be able to put a $50 credit towards your purchase!  Here are all the details you need to enter the giveaway:

  • PRIZE:  $50 worth of goods from Scout by Bungalow
  • RULES:  You must be at least 18 years old and have a street mailing address {no P.O. boxes} within the U.S.  One entry per email address.
  • HOW TO ENTER:  Leave a comment on this post proclaiming “SCOUT ME OUT!”
  • DEADLINE:  Enter before Thursday, October 27th at 9:00 p.m. EST.  One winner will be chosen via Random.org and announced on Friday, October 28th.
  • WHILE YOU’RE AT IT:  Tell me your pet’s/pets’ name/names and how they got their moniker. ‘Scout’ is actually a real mascot in the flesh for Scout by Bungalow.  See his cuteness here.

My cat’s name is Kaos. We got him when he was a small kitten. When my husband returned home from work one day, he saw tiny paw prints leading from our wood fire place all over our cream carpet and cream and beige sofa. Imagine our horror to find our new kitten had discovered our fireplace. From then on his name was Kaos because he continued to get into things and still does 11 years later.

24.October.2011

SCOUT ME OUT!

No pets right now, but I did rescue a kitten not too long ago that I (temporarily) named Twerpy McScreamy Pants (he was very vocal, particularly when left alone for any length of time over about 30 seconds). SCOUT ME OUT! My two year old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever’s name is Scout! We chose the name before we got her so it is a bit boyish but fits her enthusiastic personality perfectly! We also have a four year old tabby cat named Burgundy, named after Ron Burgundy in Anchorman! It is often shortened to Burglar which is also very suitable due to his constant food scavenging!

24.October.2011

SCOUT ME OUT! We have a bunny named Orion… he is black with a white bit on the tip of his nose which is kind of like a star, although Orion is a constellation, not a star… so it doesn’t really make sense, but Orion is one of my favorite (and most easily recognizable) constellations!

I don’t have pet, but if I did I would give it a funny human name. Did you see The Proposal…where they had the fluffy white dog named Kevin? I thought that was a funny name for a dog, so I would it a dog a fun human name like Howard, or Bill or something.

24.October.2011

24.October.2011

24.October.2011

SCOUT ME OUT – 2 dogs with perfectly suited names:
1. Jezebelle – She is an Australian Cattle dog/Sheltie. Her eyes are so pale blue that they could almost be white. Jez or Belle for short will work for her.
2. Radar – He is a Papillon. Papillon is French for butterfly (the hair flowing from around their ears makes the whole name thing work) His name is Radar because when we first got him, his ears were oversize in proportion to his body.

24.October.2011

24.October.2011

SCOUT ME OUT: I have two dogs. They are Boston Terriers. Joey, although not from down under, was named after a baby kangaroo because when he wants you to pick him up he jumps straight up in the air. Wally was named by my good friend as when he was a baby he was Wall-eyed. He is also a bit of a pig so we think the Disney interpretation also fits (Waste Allocation Load Lifter – Earth Class = Wall-E!)

24.October.2011

SCOUT ME OUT!
Very enticing on both counts–style and practicality. I rarely enter giveaways, but I’m with you on appreciating the Hilary Duffle. Re: pet names, our current feline is a big (20 lbs) rusty black part Maine coon named Muttley. The name’s from a very early cartoon and was actually a dog, but our lovable furball’s basic nature–sweet and stupid–was evident the day we brought him home at 8 weeks. He’s now 8 years old and still sweet and stupid, shaggy and shy, and Mutt still suits him. Looking forward to more updates as you convert the Underdog into an odds-on favorite for your family.

24.October.2011

SCOUT ME OUT! I love the Hilary Duffle!!!

No pets right now.

24.October.2011

SCOUT ME OUT! We live with an ENORMOUS red tabby cat named Weegee, so named due to my 2 year old’s babbling cute gibberish to him when we brought him home (it sounded like he said “Wee Gee!”) and after the hard-boiled crime scene photographer Weegee, so named because he would arrive at a scene before the police and they said he was like a Ouji board, predicting where a crime was going to take place. Our Weegee is very good at predicting when food will take place in his bowl.
