The things that made me smile this week…

*An architect’s $11,000 dream house. (The most expensive thing is the toilet!)

*Fiddle leaf fig humor. #thespot

*Instagram of the week.

*My remote should arrive any day now. No more one-armed selfies! Pictures of the whole famn damily!

*A cosmetic kitchen overhaul from the designer’s viewpoint.

*Blinded by the light.

*Lots of snow = lots of reading.

*My favorite ankle boots for the 35+ crowd.

Do something that makes you smile this weekend! I’m taking five boys (!) to see The Lego Movie. Smiles all around.

loving that couch. I am actually thinking of getting a JcPenney sofa, Darrin in leather.

Small world. I actually know the Idaho architect through a friend. It’s so amazing to see what people with creative minds can accomplish!

I’m guessing your ankle boots are the distressed brown??? Super cute!

We’re going to see that movie one of these days, too!!

Love your windows (and everything)! Could you tell were did you buy these natural shades?

07.February.2014

Love the staged pic, looks straight out of a West Elm catalog! When those antlers aren’t at the coffee table for staging where do you usually display them?

07.February.2014

If Mabrey is up and about, I usually stash them up on the media cabinet so they don’t take an eye out.

Yes, they are the distressed brown. They’re trendy on the outside but super squishy and comfy on the inside. The last time I bought boots was 5 years ago and I still love and wear them. I invested in this shorter version and hope they last just as long!

No way! I think anyone who learns and tries something new is inspiring. The fact that her “new thing” was building a house is mind-blowing.

They are from Overstock! The window is really wide so I bought two shorter shades and hung them side-by-side to save money.

07.February.2014

08.February.2014

Where is your black and white basket from?

08.February.2014

Me, too! Apparently, it was my grandfather’s trademark phrase.

I love that we’re getting to see more pictures of you here. Houses are pretty, but ultimately it’s the people in them that make them a home.

Love these made me smile posts! You put such interesting and different infomation in them…keep em’ coming!

Your staged tripod pics of yourself crack me up!

I love Macy’s home. I saw it a few months ago and was majorly inspires. I love it. And I love that amazing kitchen revamp. So much good stuff in this weeks Made Me Smile:)

Me too, me too. I prefer to be behind the camera. But I really like it when other bloggers show their faces so I try to do it every now and then. Too much?

It’s actually dark brown and natural – from Target a while back.

10.February.2014

Wayfair! It’s gets moved around from the kitchen to the living room all the time. So versatile!

10.February.2014

Target, I think. A few years ago. They have the best throws that just get better with each wash.

Something that made me smile this week: the mouth-watering smell in the house when I tried your easy chicken Marbella recipe. Best of all, it really does taste as good as it smells. I’ve made it twice now, and it has a place on the rotation of favorite quick family meals. Thank you! (chicken Marbella, the real deal, is also delicious but a serious commitment of kitchen time)

This picture looks so natural and cozy. You look so busy reading this book. Are you going to make some changes in your kitchen? I think it is a nice idea to redecorate some rooms before spring. To refresh them and buy some new stuff.

10.February.2014

Nah. Just can’t get enough of beautiful kitchens.
