tub progress

That, my friends, is the first time the (declawed) claw foot tub has been filled with water…at least while in our possession. And it happened yesterday. It felt extremely momentous. I’ll share more soon. The installation was tedious with inevitable hiccups but, look!, running water!! We feel like we’ve cleared a huge hurdle in this never-ending bathroom project. And that definitely makes us smile. Ear to ear.

More feel good stuff…

*Waltzing vacuum cleaners.

*The perfect lil’ reading nook.

*Since I’m “a little weird,” for fun I scoped out vacation rentals in Austin, TX. How ridiculously cute is this remodeled Airstream?! WANT.

*Add art to your kitchen.

*A black shack: equal parts edgy and beautiful.

*Ghost lights.

*Ikea’s take onĀ The Shining. (Red rug. Ha!)

Have a great weekend! Steve and I are going to hear Ira Glass speak at the Aronoff tonight. I’m so excited! (Have you read or seenĀ Sleepwalk with Me? Ira co-wrote and produced the film version.) I love listening to This American Life. I’m curious to see how similar / different it is to hear Ira in person. Either way, it should be fun! Storytelling is the best.

Congrats on finally getting the tub situated! I can’t wait to read all about it next week. Since the awesome factor in your bathroom with nothing in it was already off the charts, I’m excited to see how it’s looking as it starts to come together. And I can imagine the sense of relief for checking that item off your list!

I saw Ira Glass speak earlier this year–it was AMAZING. It was on my bucket list (I’m a total This American Life super nerd), and even had the chance to meet him. He is one of the most empathetic and humble people I have met and if it’s part of his Reinventing Radio tour, the show was so interesting. His talk gave a really unique perspective into the way they create and produce episodes of This American Life. Well worth it! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

I’m SO jealous – that tub is on my long-term to do list for our home :)

Yay! Bathtub! We’ve been out of our master bathroom shower for about 6 months now and I can’t wait to have it back.

Also, I’m a huge This American Life fan and am hooked on the new spinoff podcast called Serial. You should check it out!

in the UK we call these rolltop baths, if you’re getting fed up of calling it a de-clawed claw foot!

So jealous you get to go hear Ira Glass! I love listening to him also. Let us know how it was!

Ooooo, what a tease! Can’t wait to see the big reveal!

Was busy all weekend….glad I just now saw this teaser! Can’t wait for the reveal! Been in love with your idea from the begining and can’t wait to see it completed!

I saw Ira speak a few years ago – so interesting and entertaining, just like TAL! Hope you enjoyed him too!

P.S. That bath looks delicious.

Yaaay for functioning tubs!!! I cant wait to see it all. Already I love that you chose a white metal for your hardware. Jennys reading nook is amazing, and I loove the incorporation of art in the kitchen. So many great takeaways this week Dana.

Have fun with Ira! Have you listened to the spin-off from TAL yet? It’s called Serial and I’m completely hooked.

My in-laws live in Austin! Get a rental so we can hang out. It could be our girls clubhouse, wha-what!
