...because home doesn't happen overnight.

I know this blog isn’t geared towards fashion but I’ve had so many questions about my boots {as seen in our DIY holiday pics} that I’ve decided to address them in a separate post.  That way any questions/comments on the Picnik Premium giveaway post regarding the aforementioned boots can be removed from the random drawing…to keep it fair.  Without further ado, here are my Nine West Vintage America Collection boots.

They are the Sheriff design from last year.  I bought them at Macy’s right after the holidays and they were deeply discounted.  {I never pay full price for shoes and try to buy them right after the season or out-of-season.} I love them as they aren’t heavy and look worn-in right from the get-go. For some reason, when I get anything new to wear, I like to hold off on wearing it for a while for fear I may ruin it.  Isn’t that the most idiotic thing you’ve heard of?  I bought it.  I should just wear it, right?

Anyway, back to why I love these boots.  They are casual {great to wear around town running errands}, the leather is soft and the sole is flat.  I believe they are somewhat narrow in fit but that’s good for me.  I have narrower feet.  I normally wear a size 6.5 or 7 in shoes.  I bought these in a 7. They pair well with skinny jeans or leggings.  I don’t think they are readily available this season but I did find the black version here in limited sizes if you’re interested.  The good news?  Nine West still carries the Vintage America Collection and has a similar boot on sale this winter season.  It’s the Gellar boot and it’s fab.Nine West Gellar Boot

Look for it or something similar at Macy’s, Amazon, Piperlime, DSW or any other shoe retailers that sell Nine West products.  Since we’re in the midst of the winter season, the price is probably going to be high {at least by my standards} still.  If you can, wait until after the holidays to track down your new pair of boots.  Maybe ask Santy Claus for a gift card.  That way you have more moolah to tweak your house.  ;)

Be sure to check back later today to see my take on the holiday mantle. Yep, that’s right…2 posts in one day!

FYI – I was not compensated in any way for this post.  I just love sharing fab finds.

Zappos.com is a great place to get shoes as well. They usually carry discounted ones a little longer than department stores and are generally cheaper. I found the Gellar pair here:

Still pricey but on sale at least!

Jules – Oh, yes, Zappos! How could I have forgotten them? They are wonderful!!! We buy shoes from there frequently. Thanks for mentioning them.

I found some recently that look a lot like yours. I originally found them at Target but they ended up being sold out in my size. So I put in the name of them “Women’s Glaze by Adi Slouchy Flat Boots with Side Buckle” and googled it. Lots of other places had them {overstock.com was the cheapest}.
