Congrats to Barbara who was confused as to why my stenciled nook looked different than the examples shown by Cutting Edge. Here was my explanation: If you look at the stencil here the black shows the openings of the stencil. The examples on the website are of darker colors stenciled onto lighter walls. I did the opposite – lighter paint stenciled onto a darker background color {even though they’re both pretty light}. To get the effect seen on the Cutting Edge website, paint your walls the lightest color first as the background then stencil a darker color on top!
I shared my stenciled laundry nook wall last week and this week I’m so excited for one of you to win a stencil for yourself!
Cutting Edge Stencils makes DIY decorating easy and affordable. Stenciled patterns can add visual interest or create focal points. Even better, the stencils at Cutting Edge are reusable so you can bring in some of the pattern on your walls onto furniture or fabrics for a coordinated {but not matchy!} look. If you’ve never attempted to DIY a stenciled wall, check out this video tutorial for no fail instructions.
