...because home doesn't happen overnight.

I’ve been nesting. I’m sprucing up a little corner of our bedroom in the apartment for baby. Everything is gender neutral {we don’t know if baby is a boy or a girl}, temporary {we don’t plan on being here much longer} and budget-friendly {I can’t see spending a bunch of $ on stuff just for the short newborn phase}. I’ve spent less than $20 by using a lot of things we already had on hand and getting crafty.

Have a peek!

Reveal pics on the way tomorrow!

We sold our house and move I to temporary housing in 2 weeks. I’m due in 5 weeks. I am nesting so badly, but have nothing to spruce up yet. LOVE the coral and navy….when we finally get a new house her nursery will be coral and navy. I saw this board months ago and fell in love wi the palette. http://laybabylay.com/coral-and-navy-delight/. I can’t wait to see what you do!

Oh, I can’t wait either! Very cool of what I see. :)

Antlers? Excited to see what you’ve done. :)

I’m sorry, but I have to rain on your parade. A sheepskin in a crib is horribly, horribly, horribly dangerous. They are traditional, but they’re deadly. I’m sorry.

Looks sweet, and good for you for nesting even though temporary. We moved 5 days before our baby #4 was born and not nesting was unexpectedly emotionally hard! We unpacked, yes, but nested, no.

Janie – Not to worry…I have a crib sheet and waterproof pad underneath it that the baby will sleep on. The sheep skin will get pulled off when we lay baby down. It’s just for looks. More on that tomorrow…

I’m excited to see the baby and the nesting creations! I’m thinking GIRL for you guys :)

Also and very selfishly…I am looking forward to any new pillows you may purchase for the new sofa and chairs. I have been holding out to see what great ones you find via Etsy, etc. before I update mine on my couch and chairs :)

Very beautiful and economical!

oooooh I’ve been considering that rug for ages now. I keep adding it to my cart then closing the page. I’m excited to see it in your space!

Such pretty selections, but please please keep your baby area baby-friendly and safe. You may have a sensitive, allergic or even asthmatic baby, and the fact that the sheepskin (real or not) has been there, even if moved for sleeping, will be an issue. Even with a healthy baby, its just not worth the risk. Maybe you have another place you can put the pretty white fluff, like the back of your sofa or your own bed.

What is the name/brand of the navy blue and white fabric? I love it! I am having a girl in July and want to do Navy Blue and White with coral and pink accents.

Off topic, but I was just thinking builddirect.com should really sponsor you (and/or offer a discount to your readers lol). I have been in love with and plan on using the same hardwood flooring you used, and can only imagine dozens more did too as a result of this blog and pin(terest) from your blog. Love your design tastes. xoxo Tasha

Ohhh such a tease…can’t wait to see what you’ve cooked up!

So excited to see the full reveal! We’re expecting our first baby in August and won’t find out the gender beforehand, so I’m interested in all things neutral in the nursery department :)

Can you please tell me where you for that ruffly yellow pillow? (the one on the bed with the headboard that says love)

Stacey – It was an Etsy purchase from this shop…
